# OpenOdia

> openodia is an open source Python library and command-line tool for Odia (ଓଡ଼ିଆ) text: tokenize, normalize, clean, translate, detect language, generate names, summarize, remove stopwords, n-grams, word frequency and PII masking. Install with `pip install openodia` or run `uvx openodia`.

Version note: `--json` on every CLI subcommand (one machine-readable JSON document on stdout) needs a release newer than 0.1.14. PyPI 0.1.14 has `--json` on `detect-language` only, and other subcommands exit with code 2 there. From a source checkout, `uv run openodia <subcommand> --json` works. `openodia pii` exits 2 on 0.1.14 and `import openodia.pii` fails there; it needs a newer release too.
